Two Different Programs of WyoTech
In 2015, Corinthian Colleges, Inc., the parent company of WyoTech, was found culpable of lying about job placement rates and of encouraging low-income students to receive student loans for under-standard training. These former students are now fighting under a debt mountain, even if many graduated from WyoTech with a ”respectable” degree, they can’t find a job. In March 2016, the California State Attorney General made a $ 1.1 billion decision against Corinthian, which gave former WyoTech students the right to apply for a loan to WyoTech’s debts. In this article, we’ll explain exactly how you can take advantage of this by using the decision given to Corinthian to delete your WyoTech student loan credits.
The primary thing you should know is that whether you want to select a program or another, you will only want to apply for this program. Therefore, you should choose the program that gives you the best chance of discharging student loans, as described below.

Information for Former Corinthian Colleges Students
The Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office is a large company, which operates California-based Everest College, Heald College, and WyoTech non-profit colleges led the charge against Corinthian Colleges, Inc. (CCI). Their predator and illegal practices misrepresent work placement rates, and school programs targeted low-income, unprotected individuals, and tens of thousands of students could not find work under a debt.
In April 2015, Corinthian permanently closed all schools in California and in May 2015 filed for insolvency. The United States Department of Education, based on an investigation in June 2015 by the California Attorney General, made findings that gave former Corinthian students the right to issue debts and created an aerodynamic process.
In March 2016, the Attorney General decided to appeal against the Corinthians and awarded compensation and a total of $ 1.1 billion. The Attorney-General’s Office continues to advocate for former Corinthian students, including students attending Everest, Heald and WyoTech colleges.
In December 2017, the Attorney General filed a lawsuit with the DeVos Ministry of Education and Secretary for halting the so-called bail allowance given to insulted Corinthian students.
The Attorney General also twice filed law on the Ministry of Education, for the illegal delay in critical regulations protecting pupils from predatory, nonprofit schools such as Corinth.
INTERACTIVE TEAM FOR CORINTHIAN COLLEGE STUDENTS
Corinthian Colleges was a nonprofit company that offers post-secondary education through Everest, Heald and WyoTech colleges.
Together, these schools were running 23 campuses in California and online and registered tens of thousands of Californians before.
Are former Corinthian students valid for any debt reductions?
Former Corinthian students may be eligible for credit discharges or other relief.
Your rights depend on your particular situation. For example, former students may be valid for:
-
Closed school discharge
If you attended a Corinthian school on or after June 20, 2014, and then closed on April 27, 2015, and if you have not completed your program, you may be eligible for a closed school discharge. A student who qualifies for a closed school can receive 100% discharge of federal Direct Loans, Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program credits, and Federal Perkins Credits. They resigned to join the closed school and the repayment of the amount they had previously paid to the Government.
-
Borrower’s Defend Payback
If you continue to a Corinthian school that is fraudulent or infringes current state laws, you may be eligible to evacuate your federal Direct Credits. The investigation by the California Chief Prosecutors and the US Department of Education concluded that WyoTech College misrepresented work placement rates in most of his programs between 2010 and 2014, insulting students and violating the law. Students registered in one of these programs may be valid to apply for an expedited “borrower defense to repayment” application and also stop the collection of federal student loans when their application is considered.
-
Student Education Learning Funding Fund (STRF)
If you have attended a Corinthian school on or after 20 June 2014, or if you have withdrawn within 120 days of this date, the STRF may pay you for personal student loans and the additional money you spend on your allowance.
You can find STRF information on the Internet.
Visit the Attorney General’s Interactive Tool for detailed information.
